Performing

Karl has performed in many choral ensembles. He has performed with the Gettysburg College Choir, the Gettysburg Concert Choir, and the St. Peter Lutheran Church Chancel Choir. He as appeared as a soloist with Gettysburg College’s Opera Workshop Program in Dido & Aeneas  (First Sailor) and L’enfant et les sortilèges (L’horloge comtoise) in addition to singing in several choruses. He performed as a soloist in Shenandoah University’s Church Music Instuite Chorus in their performance of Alice Parker’s Melodious Accord. Furthermore he has performed as a soloist at St. Peter Lutheran Church. While at Gettysburg Karl studied voice with Jeffrey Fahnestock and Matthew Osifchin and was coached by Dr. Scott Crowne

Conducting

Karl currently serves as the conductor of the St. Peter Lutheran Church Chancel Choir in Mechanicsburg, PA where he leads the ensemble in weekly performances of sacred repertoire connected to the liturgical year. Karl has also conducted the Bermudian Springs Concert Choir, Women’s Choir, and Eagle Singers in concert. While at Gettysburg Karl studied choral conducting with Dr. Rob Natter and Dr. Brent Talbot.

Teaching

Karl has taught in many diverse choral ensembles. As a church musician, he has conducted small mixed choirs composed of musicians of various levels. As a school teacher, he has worked with treble choir at all levels and mixed choirs at the high school and middle school levels. He has worked with choirs in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular settings.
